Edit.Edit.Edit!

Yesterday I had only started to capture my footage. But as problems like to occur allot in my group it didn't go smoothly. It took me all morning to capture and only about eleven o'clock was I able to start editing. This left me until four pm of that day and until 2pm of today to edit. I can proudly say I have finished. After I finished I decided I wasn't happy with the saturation levels of the band shoot.
The photo to the left of the screen is the unedited saturation levels. The photo under neath is where we edited the saturation levels. As you can tell the colours seem much better, E.G.The guitarist trousers are more blue. I then went on to use this effect all through out the band scenes.

FILMING IS OVER!:D

Today filming was finally finished. I don't think I have ever been so pleased. We filmed the shot with Michael and some of his friends from music so we also had a band again. Geraint was unable to make this again so it was me and Lauren. Thankfully Craig and Stuart helped us out allot. Michael really gave energy. I am thank full for the effort Jamie put in but I am definitely going to work with what we filmed of Michael. But filming is officially over so bring on the editing!

Bad Timing.

Today my group planned on filming Jade as she leaves at a train station. However alike before, Nothing goes to plan. To begin with our Director wasn't there and had no idea where he was. Secondly Jade came down with a really bad head ache and had to leave earlier. She did say she would ring later and see if she could help us then but me and Lauren made a joint decision it was unfair for her to film being ill. Hopefully tomorrow will go more our way. We are going to be filming Michael, However yet again Geraint can't make it until half 2 but time is running out so we are just going to have to start with out him.

Enter:Michael Hurley!

Good news on the performer front. Hurley has agreed to be our performer. I am glad of this because I feel he has the look too.

Some Bad News.

Amanda told us about a man called Morgan who has amazing stage presence. Lucky for us Ben happened to know him and had worked with him before so he sent a message and it seemed promising. Until he figured out he couldn't actually do it. This is where I feel we are really going through a rough patch. At the moment we have our hearts set on another guy called Hurley in music tech. We wont see him until Wednesday though.

Waste Hit The Fan.

We decided to capture what we had already filmed and then it began. We discovered what we had filmed gave us very little to work with. Jamie wasn't giving enough to the performance. We felt the song was too upbeat and he just wasn't on the same level. This means we know have to find another performer and re film. With the dead line coming closer I am beginning to wonder how are we going to film all this and complete within the dead line.

Jade And Adam.

I accidentally missed this shooting session out. It was before Jamie's close ups in the Auditorium but after The Gig scene. We realised that we had to make some changes as we felt we were unable to meet the requirements as time was running out. Lauren had other commitments and was unable to make it so it was just myself,Geraint and Adam. We began shooting at the skate park where the gig scene was filmed and went with it. Also we originally wanted skaters but were unable to get hold of them. Lucky enough there were people there on BMX's and kindly let us film them. Geraint took over Laurens role and I felt he knew what he was doing and was maybe more suited for DOP.

A Lack Of Intimacy.

When looking back on the gig scene we realised we didn't have enough footage and wanted some more close ups of the singer (Jamie). We decided to film in the auditorium however I'm not sure Geraint was happy with this but he had other commitments to attend to. I rang Jamie and my team and got them in. We happened to be filming on a day in which the second years were in and it turned out to be a great coincidence. We had Gareth,Craig and Adam to help us. I am glad they took time out to help us as I'm not sure Me and Lauren would of been able to do it on our own.

THE GIG!

I was actually really nervous for this as I felt the pressure of being a producer and I didn't feel like I was doing my team justice. Also the day before this was filmed I went into music and asked if some students would be able to help me out and act as a band. Thankfully they agreed. I also asked other students to be extras, This however didn't go to plan as people said they would show up but on the day there was nobody. On the actual day of filming we had some issues which we got over such as not having a drum kit but thankfully Geraint could get hold of one and it was well appreciated. We began filming with no crowd but I feel it worked out.

Walking To The Gig.

For these scenes we filmed Jade with a Friend (Joanne) and we also filmed Adam. We started with just Jade and Joanne walking as Joanne is trying to Cheer her up. We then went on to film Adam walking towards the gig. This I felt was an awesome day filming as all team members were present and we all knew and understood what we wanted.

The Girls Bedroom Scene.

We were going to film this scene in a Rehearsal room but decorate it up so it is able to actually look like a bedroom due to mine and my groups travelling distance. However my friend Ben offered to lend us some time to film in his house so off Me,Lauren and Jade went. Geraint however had work commitments unfortunately and was unable to make this shooting so myself and Lauren carried on with our jobs. We took the story boards and talked it over with Geraint what he wanted but Ben had also had some experience in working as a director so we occasionally asked him for assistance.
We set up the lights and were ready to go. Filming ran smoothly until we decided to do a scene where the camera is angled at the phone when the girl (Jade) receives the text message. This had problems attached as we tried with one phone but the camera couldn't focus on it properly so we tried another problem but the screen was too small. But all in all it was a good filming session.

Filming Fiasco.

Lately there has been some mild disagreements in my group about Locations and Shots. We have decided we are going to have A couple of scenes filmed in the girls bedroom then at the skate park then down a lane and then into a train station or Auditorium. We are also having difficulty grouping together our cast as many people have pulled out.

Complete change of direction.

We have now decided to film in Ystrad Skate park. I have realised that Ferndale Skate Park is more appropriate to film in and feel it would definitely benefit Mine,Laurens and Geraints grades more however due to none of us able to drive transport is an issue considering we have to get the equipment and cast and crew over there. Also I feel it may be a slight risk hazard and as a producer I am not prepared to take that risk. However Filming in Ystrad Skate park is a five minute walk away from college and I feel is more open and less potential hazards.

Group discussions

I get along really well with my crew so its easy for us talk and exchange ideas. The narrative is going to consist of a boy and girl breaking up leaving the girl feeling down which then follows to her friends trying to cheer her up by taking her to a "secret gig" and she sees her ex boyfriend where they agree to get back together however he then kisses another girl in front of her.

Beginning of the music video

I am going to be creating a music video in college. I am going to be working in a group with my fellow peers. I am working in the role of producer.

All of the producers in my class had a meeting with my tutor where we all chose our songs. There was a choice of Buck Rodger-Feeder,Last Train Home-Lostprophets,Road Rage-Katatonia,Sex Bomb-Tom Jones. I chose Lostprophets.

Last week I chose my director and director of photography(DOP.) First of all my director pitched to me, Geraint Jones. He had some really good ideas and new he was dedicated so I chose him. I then went on to choose my DOP. I had all of the DOP's in the class pitching for me so I thought the decision would be hard but my friend Lauren Jones new exactly what I wanted.

I have now got my crew together and ready to start working.
